Sometimes, a photoshop retouch is neccesary because of the angle of how the photo was taken. An old photographic trick is to angle the camera down and take the shot from slightly above the model, this enhances the contours of the jaw and lengthens the neck. Depending on the lens being used, a closeup like this can also distort what the photographer sees. This type of lens distortion can make the nose appear proportionately larger, the eyes can't open as much and sometimes giving wrinkles to the forehead.
