My thoughts of
9th anniversary gifts were pottery being a symbol of continuing sustenance, with the pot carrying the waters of life for the future of the couple. I must confess to not thinking deeply enough to consider test match cricket.
Of course I was only kidding about the Ming vase. Sure they’re beautiful but ultimately doomed to be broken to bits in most cricket playing households – and perhaps a little expensive for a 9th wedding anniversary gift anyway. By your 9th year anniversary, marriage is also one of the minds (as well as heart and soul), so compromise is crucial. So maybe the ideal 9th anniversary gift is one of compromise.
My suggestion of a lovely picnic under a beautiful willow tree, with maybe a cool ale in a couple of gorgeous beer steins, was met with nodding approval from my husband, and perhaps we could have a few overs of cricket as well. After all the greatest 9 year anniversary gift is sharing. He had me there.
