After the adrenaline fest of the ceremony and the wedding party of the century, things could get a little chaotic without a honeymoon travel checklist, right? What do you mean you haven't got a honeymoon checklist? Wouldn't it be a shame to get through the grand ceremony without fluffing your lines, absolutely nailing the first dance (and thank God the speeches didn't drag on) only to fall over when you're supposed to go on your trip of a lifetime. Oh boy!

Putting it simply, there is no substitute for a honeymoon packing checklist. Imagine getting to the airport and realising you left the passports and visas under your mother's coffee table. Planning for a honeymoon, is a serious business and has to be approached with the thoroughness of planning a lunar landing. There must be no disasters. It's too late wishing you'd taken that malaria shot, when your lying in hospital thousands of miles from home. You've got to plan your honeymoon travel months in advance.

Fortunately, honeymoon planning has entered the computer age and life is easier. You can keep copies of all your important documents on a memory stick and take them with you when you go overseas. In fact, when planning a honeymoon, a comprehensive checklist backed up on your memory stick, can make all the difference between a disaster and a minor inconvenience. No honeymoon travel plans are complete without either.

Honeymoon Tips & Travel Checklist

I never hurts to be prepared. Here's a travel honeymoon checklist and some helpful honeymoon tips:

	Have a budget and try to remember it is a limit not a target, but let's face it, keep a comfortable margin of error. There's nothing worse than not doing the things you really wanted to do because you went 3.75% over budget. Loosen the top button, but keep your shirt on.
	Book well ahead. You want to have your first choice holiday. Second choice will not do.
	Have your travel agent's details in case of problems.
	Make sure all your travel documents are in order. Don't find out you need a visa when you get to the airport.
	Make sure you have maps or even better a GPS device for the place you are going. Life just gets easier that way.
	If you are travelling to a part of the world where exotic diseases are prevalent, organise the relevant vacinations at least a month before departure. Sometimes there are reactions to some medication. You want to be over all of them before the wedding day. If you are taking prescription drugs make sure you have a copy of the prescription. Make sure that the country you are travelling to approves of the drug you are taking. Strip searches at the airport are almost never fun.
	Scan your passports, visas, marriage certificate and all other relevant documents and store the information in a memory stick - password protected of course. If you lose everything, the information stored on the stick is easily retrieved from the nearest computer terminal. As a second insurance policy, email all of that same information to yourself to your hotmail, yahoo or gmail account. This is all password protected and retrievable in case you lose the memory stick.
	If you are taking travellers cheques (and I always do) keep a list of their numbers. Leave a copy with someone at home and make a copy on that little memory stick.
	If you are taking part in any honeymoon package, make sure you keep all the details agreed upon, on an email or on hard copy.
	Make sure to get some foreign currency before you leave. It'll save time when you get to the other end, and keep your credit card or bank card for emergencies.
	I cannot state this emphatically enough, take out travel insurance! If you've ever lost luggage you'll wish you had.
	Make sure your health insurance is paid up to date before you leave. It always pays to be prepared.
	Reconfirm all flights at least three days before departure and do not be late on the day. Most travel agents recommend that you check in at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure for international flights and 1 hour for domestic.
	Arrange to have your mail collected by family members and cancel any newspapers subscriptions.
	Be sure to confirm your acommodation by email, fax and phone call.
	Make sure all your luggage is correctly labelled and make sure all suitcases have locks on them. A suitcase without a lock is an invitation to thieves. No joke.
	If you are travelling to a foreign destination, guidebooks and timetables are a must.
	Make sure all payments such as mortgages and credit cards are paid up before you go.
	A will and life insurance seem a little over-zealous, but you never can tell.
	Make sure to bring an assortment of sexy underwear.
Checklist Before You Leave the House
	Airline tickets or Cruise tickets.
	Passports, visa's and your drivers licence (if you have one).
	A printed copy of hotel accommodation and confirmation documents – hotel address and phone numbers.
	Insurance documents.
	Sunglasses, spectacles or reading glasses.
	Mobile or cell phone, phone charge etc.
	International electrical plug adapters.
	Small memory stick with scanned copy of all documentation, phone numbers, including a scanned copy of your passports and itinerary.
	Snappy camera, video camera, extra memory cards (or photographic film).
	Credit cards, travellers cheques and some cash.
	Pain killers, vitamins, medications, prescriptions (if any). etc.
	Shampoo, conditioner, skin care, scrubs, makeup and toiletries.
	Hair dryer
	Razors, nail cutters etc.
	Sewing kit and small scissors.
	Last but not least, bring some fun and sexy lingerie. After all it is your honeymoon.
