You have the choice of open or closed toe shoes. Brides most commonly pick the closed toe shoe as it hides the stocking toe and is considered more formal. You should also consider both comfort and style when selecting your wedding shoes. It can be a long day and comfort is important - especially if you suffer from sore feet. If so, a lower heel shoe could be a life-saver. Sore feet always show on the face. However, if you are brave and feel sexier in high heels, go for it!
Fairy Godmother tip; savvy brides have been known to take a spare comfortable pair of shoes to the reception. Keep the spare pair near by, have your bridesmaids take care of this for you.

When I got married, I wore a green silk ball gown. I wanted to be a little different. The bodice was strapless and fitted, had long ties that pulled in at the back.
My gown was embellished with clear AB Swarovski crystals. The bodice sat over a long full ball skirt.
I wore 'metallic salmon' high heel shoes, a gorgeous colour.
My heels were a closed shoe with open strips at the toe exposing some of my skin. I was still able to wear stockings! There are certain times of your day when your shoes will be exposed. Walking up and down stairs when you lift your gown and the traditional groom's removal of the garter at the reception party.
However if you are having a beach wedding theme or a casual wedding, you may want to consider designer bridal flip flops and foot jewelry.
Select your bridal shoes wisely, pick something both stylish, easy to walk in and reflects your theme. And remember the spares!
