Of course, there are also those adventurous darlings (like me!) who can't wait to get the party started (as the song goes). Not for them the traditional white wedding. These are the gals who put their intrepid little boats out to sea in all kinds of weather. The joy is in the journey. For them the fancy wedding cake is part of the mission statement - 'we are here for a good time!'
Fancy party cakes have been around a while now. They can be small and elaborate, or they can be gawdy and large enough for a someone to burst out in a show of shameless exuberance. I think it's safe to say that probably won't happen at a wedding, though it would be a novel way to cut the cake. The road less travelled?
