Bridal Tiaras
Like the star on top of the christmas tree!

Crystal bridal tiaras, jewelled combs and headbands are the trademark of the fairy-tale princess - every bride's fantasy!

The tiara was originally known as the diadem and dates back to ancient times. For centuries, tiaras have been worn by brides during their wedding ceremony.

The definition of a headdress is an ornamental covering or band for the head, esp. one worn on ceremonial occasions. So which headpiece do you choose for your wedding day?

Tiaras add regal elegance to the brides overall look, which heightens the grandeur and attraction of the bride, making her even more beautiful and irresistable to the groom. When choosing your tiara or headpiece, there are a few things to consider that may help prevent impulse buys you may later regret.

How to Choose Bridal Tiaras

10 Fairy Godmother Tips

1. Fairy Godmother tip; for short hair choose delicate and petite bridal tiaras that won't require lots of pinning to hold it in place or a wear a headband style headpiece.

2. Fairy Godmother tip; it's a good idea to take along a fabric colour sample of your gown. Ivory, white and off-white can be look similar under some lights. To be sure, try to view the headpiece and bridal fabric under natural lighting.

3. Fairy Godmother tip; if you have a pattern in your gown, look for a headpiece with similar detailing to compliment you gown. If your are unsure, just keep it classic and simple. You can't go wrong.

4. Fairy Godmother tip; if your bridal gown has pearls or crystals or both in the detailing of the fabric then select a tiara or headpiece to match the crystals and or both the beads.

5. Fairy Godmother tip; a tiara with only clear crystals will match any gown. A pearl headpiece is best suited to ivory or off-white gowns, or gowns with pearls already sewn into them.

6. Fairy Godmother tip; silver and white are considered the classic combination, so if you are wearing a white gown, then select a tiara that is either silver-tone, rhinestone, or has white pearls

7. Fairy Godmother tip; if your gown is off-white or ivory, choose a bridal headpiece either in gold-tone or with ivory pearls or beads.

8. Fairy Godmother tip; if you combine white accessories with an ivory gown, it will look like a mis-match and your gown will appear off colour.

9. Fairy Godmother tip; bridal gowns lighter than off-white are called diamond white, wear either gold and silver toned accessories.

10. Fairy Godmother tip; if you're wearing a coloured bridal gown you can wear either gold or silver to accessorise. Here's a tip; if your fabric colour is a warm tone, wear gold accessories and if it's a cool tone then wear silver accessories.

Special Note: If you have embellishments or trimmings on your gown, the colour of the crystals on your tiara can also match the colour of the accents in your gown.
