Nichole C Nanoski and Sean C Plicque
by Nicole & Sean
Yep we are engaged! After nearly 11 years of friendship and 7 months of dating we have decided that we would be happy together forever! So for those of you who have not heard the story here is a short synopsis of how Sean proposed.
We both flew to AZ for a week so we could be with his family and a third of mine came along. (My parents and Nat) On Tuesday Apri 10 we went to Zion National Park in Utah where we trekked up my favorite childhood hike of Observation Point. Four of us went the 4 miles to the top. Sean, me, his sister Candi and her husband Barn. I really did not think he was going to propose this trip because he had no sign of nervousness and although my last trip out to see him he had asked for my ring size I had gotten no further inclination that anything had been done with that information. At the top of our hike unbeknownst to me- Sean had Barn carry red roses in his backpack all the way to the top. Then when I was not looking Candi found a private spot overlooking the canyon and placed the roses as well as a recording camera in just the right position and rushed back to let him know his plan was in motion. Thats when he told me he wanted to take me to a special spot. But he himself only knew the general direction! So he was looking around a bit and I was wondering what he was doing. As we approached the 'special spot' he was surprised to find another couple had beat him to it! With very concerned faces they asked if the camera on the rock was his? They imagined that the roses and recording camera facing a 2,000 ft drop was not the setup for a proposal but the final farewell of a suicide! And they picked up the camera to see if that was the case. He assured them it was his camera and wanted them to scram but they seemed to want more of an explanation which he had no intenetion of giving them. From behind I could see the roses and now knew what it all meant. So once the couple left Sean got down on one knee (yes gentlement still exist!) took my hands in his and asked me to marry him! That was the easiest question I ever had to answer! It was a great moment- although not captured on film. What we do have on film is two anxious people discussing who jumped over the cliff!
