A professional retoucher is often the difference between a good photo and a ready to publish photograph. Errors in lighting or camera lens distortion can be fixed, along with other flaws and blemishes. This is were high end retouching comes in.

In the photo below, the graphic design work was done by my client on behalf of 'Sony Records'. My job here was to correct the blotchy and patchy skin in the shadow areas especially the chest. It wasn't enough to just lighten the singers skin, as it would have looked even more blotchy, but lighter. So I had to clone and re-create the skin were it needed to be lighter. It's a little like skin grafting.

I was also asked by the client to remove the colourful sequins on the dress. The finishing touch was to reduce small blemishes on the face, minimising any strong creases and shadows that would show up as imperfections in the print production of the cd cover.
