I love retouching faces. My favourite is glamour. I must say though, retouching skin can be difficult. So keeping it from looking like it has been retouched can be challenging. The best photoshop retouching techniques are subtle, believable and undetected. Knowing when to stop is important, I prefer not to over-do it.

In this before and after shot below, the camera lens used to take this portrait enphasizes the centre of the model's face. The wrong portrait lens gives the illusion that the models nose is larger than in real life. A telephoto lens is a better portrait lens.

Result: the model's nose was amended to her natural size, flaws and blemishes removed and the overall image was colour corrected. The subject still resembles herself, a natural beauty - only better. A lovely photo to add to her modelling portfolio.
