How to Make hand tied bridal bouquets using Calla Lillies
Written narration of this DIY Wedding Flowers Video
with floral arranging instructions:
Today we are going to make hand tied bridal bouquets for a bride or a bridesmaid using Calla Lillies.
1. I have 12 Calla Lillies in this vase and we are going to start our bouquet using 2 for the centre. As we go along, we'll use some of the floral stem wrap tape and tape the 2 or 3 flowers together so that they stay in place.
2. Once you have your first 2 centre Calla Lillies taped together, we start adding another 2 or 3 Calla Lillies, building around the first 2 flowers. Each step of the way we are going to tape the additional flowers so that the Calla Lillies stay were you want them to. Sometimes when you try to hang on to too many flowers they start to slide around a little, so taping them is important.
3. As you can see we are just adding Calla Lillies right around the first 2 centre ones. Every time to add 2 or 3 more Calla Lillies, use some more tape to hold everything in place. Remember to stretch your tape and just wrap it around the same area of the stems everytime.
4. Keep adding more Calla Lillies around in a circle. Your can use as many or as few Calla Lillies as you like, I've chose 12.
5. Calla lillies don't really need any foliage because they are so beautiful. But sometimes we need to to add another colour to match a bridesmaids dress or to match your wedding colour theme. I've chosen some green Ivy. I'm putting a little Ivy underneath and around the calla lillies and taping them down too. So there will be 4 pieces of Ivy around the bouquet. Then all we have to do is cover up the floral tape that's holding everything together with some lovely ribbon.
6. I've chosen a wide soft pink satin ribbon. You can choose any colour. Wrap it around where you've been taping. This decorative ribbon gives a nice soft ribbon for the bride or the bridesmaids to hang on to. Once you have the ribbon wrapped all the way around, We'll use some boutonniere pins with pearl heads to secure the ribbon in place and to also add a little extra detail decoration to the bouquet.
7. Make sure you pierce the the actual stem of the flower, if you don't, the pin may prick the girls hand as she's holding the bouquet.
8. So here you have a beautiful finished bridal bouquet.

When I was planning my wedding, I had no experience with diy wedding flowers. My sister Lili and I got together and attempted our first floral arrangement, it turned out to be such a great success. On the wedding day we received many compliments from both our families, friends and wedding guests. We did it all ourselves and a big helping hand from my two young nieces.
Emmeline was only 7 years old and Winona was 12 at the time. They made all of the smaller wedding table arrangements that went on the guests tables, we were just blown away with how creative they were.
We also made an impressive large oval wedding flower centerpiece as the bridal table centerpiece, it turned out to be a real show piece with lovely pink Tiger Lillies and Tulips. We also made a round wedding candle centerpiece that went on the columns on either side of the bridal table.
