1. | First get some rondant icing, kneed the icing until it softens and becomes smooth and pliable. |
2. | Spinkle some cornflower on the table. |
3. | Roll out the fondant thinly, keep turning and rolling. |
4. | To make the bow, you need to cut out two rectangles 5 inches by 10 inches wide. Keep the left overs in an air tight container to keep it moist. |
5. | Take some cotton wool, place it in the middle of one of the rectangular pieces, join edges together. Add a bit of moisture to the join. Then scrunch the join together and place it upright. |
6. | Repeat with the second rectangular piece. |
7. | To make the ribbon tail, pull out some more fondant, kneed it until it is smooth and pliable. |
8. | Add some more cornflower on the table. Then roll out the fondant until you get a long strip. |
9. | Cut out a long neat strip approximately 15 inches long by 2 inches wide. |
10. | Cut in half. Then out a ribbon tail on one side and a point on the other. |
11. | Scrunch in the pointy side of both of them, add some moisturre to the ends. |
12. | Scrunch both ends together, lift and place them in front on the bows. |
13. | Add some moisture at the join and place the upright bows on top of the join in the ribbon tails, scrunching them slightly so they will stick. |
14. | Then lift the ribbon up from the middle of the tail. |
15. | Roll out another piece of thin icing, this will be used to hide the join. Cut out a neat strip 1.5 inches by 4 inches, crimp slightly and place over the join of the bow. |
16. | Leave to sit on the table until it has hardened. |
