Art Deco Wedding Cake Designs

Art deco cake designs have been around since about the 1920's and mirrored the art deco movement which saw some of the amazing constructions in architecture such as the Chryser building or the Golden Gate bridge. The art deco cake captures some of those amazing forms on a smaller scale.
Often characterized by smooth streamlined surfaces of buttercream or rolled fondant, sunburst motifs and lavish detail, the art deco cake is a little over the top and is meant to make a cake-lover wonder at the hidden glories inside!
