Pictures of Creative Wedding Cakes

Fortunately today most of us live in close proximity to a artistic cake shop that specialises in truly creative cakes and although these amazing creative cake designs don't come cheap, it won't be like commissioning the Sistine Chapel either. Though interestingly, I read somewhere that the Sistine Chapel took years to paint because Michelangelo moonlighted as a baker. The things you read....
If however, you find yourself budgetly constrained and find yourself (or your clever Auntie Flo) bubbling over with creative cake ideas, don't let your imaginative and original wedding cake designs suffer from the overuse of over-embellishments and artistic flourishes which can diffuse and overwhelm the original design theme. More often than not `less is more.'
Creative Cake Ideas
The fun creative cakes I've included below are inventive and different.....and excellent examples of charming designer wedding cakes. If only we could have a little piece!

Fairy Godmother tip; for a creative wedding cake, there are some simple rules to follow to achieve that designer look without going over board. Keep them in mind before going ahead with your creative venture;
1. | Stick to one theme, either a colour scheme or a wedding theme. |
2. | Keep it simple, use good composition and balance, and if in doubt leave it out. |
3. | No more than two or three different colours, preferrably two, unless your choice is part of your overall wedding theme. |
4. | If you choose more than two colours, keep with the hues of the predominant colour. |
