Square wedding cakes and round cakes are the most traditional out of all the wedding cake shapes.

Other usual wedding cake shapes are not as common but are still quite popular for themed weddings, as young wedding couples like the opportunity to express their individuality.

Wedding cakes can be made with any flavour. However not all can be tiered wedding cakes. Fruit cake, mud cake, carrot cake and banana cake are quite solid and are ideal for a tiered wedding cake. Sponge cakes on the other hand are quite soft and best as a single tier.
